Santa Claus is also known as St. Nickolas, Saint Nicholas, St. Nick, Father Christmas, Grandfather Frost, and Kris Kringle.

The story behind the ’12 days of Christmas’ Legend has it that the three kings took twelve days to travel to the birthplace of baby Jesus, hence the holidays of Christmas are known as 12 days of Christmas.

The origin or the use of Christmas trees goes way back to ancient Egyptians and Romans. They used evergreen trees like fir or pine trees, wreaths, and garlands. And the use of modern Christmas trees started in Germany in the 16th century. Instead of the glitzy decorations that we see on them today, they were decorated with fruits and nuts.

According to legend Santa Claus lives at the North Pole with Mrs Claus and his army of Elves and that’s exactly where he lives!

Santa has nine reindeer to pull his sleigh through the night sky, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Donner, Vixen, Blitzen, Comet, Cupid and Rudolph.

Many children leave out milk and cookies or other treats for Santa on Christmas Eve because he gets hungry on his long journey of delivering presents, but did you know that the reindeer get hungry as well?
Santa asks the children to leave out a pale of water and some carrots, and reindeer food for his reindeers.

According to the poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas” written by Clement Moore in 1823, Santa is described as a jolly old elf with cheeks like roses, his nose like a cherry, and a little round belly that shook when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

One of the reasons Santa can make his marathon runs through the day and give gifts to the kids all over the world is due to the help of elves. The merry spirit of Christmas is because of these cheerful workers and their commitment to the kids of the world.

Santa Claus was born in 270 AD. That means he is over 1,000 years old. It’s the magic of Christmas that keeps him alive and well.

Rudolph was added to Santa’s reindeer team on one Christmas Eve during a very bad snowstorm. Santa’s original eight reindeer could not see to fly through the storm, and Rudolph with his glowing red nose lit the way for Santa’s sleigh.
